The New Rude

Pitney Bowes surveyed consumers across five countries - UK, US, France Germany and India - to discover what businessrelated behaviours they consider to be rude. Respondents were asked to select the behaviours that they found most rude, ranging from traditional interactions such as handshakes to technology-reliant communication techniques such as LinkedIn invites. In the UK, the ubiquitous mobile phone is causing meeting distress. A buzzing phone can be hard to ignore, but even a quick check of emails or texts in business meetings is considered rude by almost half of all respondents.
